Romney: No hard feelings for Christie

Mitt Romney said he does not blame New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) for commending President Obama in the final weeks of the election — a move some Republicans said hurt Romney.

“I don’t think that’s why the president won the election,” Romney told “Fox News Sunday” this week. “Chris did what he thought was the best for the people of his state.”

“I”m not going to worry about how Chris was doing what he thought was best for the people of his state. I lost my election because of my campaign, not because of what anyone else did,” Romney said. 

{mosads}Hurricane Sandy hit the East Coast before the election and Christie complimented Obama’s handling of the storm, which angered many Republicans.

The New Jersey governor responded fiercely to GOP criticism.

“If you think right now I give a damn about presidential politics, then you don’t know me,” Christie said. “I’ve got 2.4 million people out of power. I’ve got devastation on the shore. I’ve got floods in the northern part of my state.”

Romney appeared on Fox News to discuss his loss and how he and wife, Ann, have coped in recent months.

“I wish I were there,” Romney said of the White House. “It kills me not to be there, not to be in the White House doing what needs to be done.”
