Draft Hillary group hires Clinton’s former attorney

His departure to work for then-New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson’s (D) 2007 presidential campaign is a sign, however, that he may not still be close with Clinton’s inner circle.

The move also shows the group is serious about doing some heavy campaign activity without running afoul of the Federal Election Commission — and that it plans on raising significant resources since it’s likely the high-powered attorney’s retainer matches his level of prestige. The organization aims to lay the groundwork for a potential 2016 campaign by building grassroots networks across the country in case she decides to run.

The group is run by Allida Black and Judy Beck, two longtime Clinton supporters who were on Clinton’s Virginia Women’s Steering Committee in 2008 and helped her raise more than $100,000. The two also were behind Women Count, a political action committee that ran ads pushing back against calls for Clinton to drop out early from the 2008 presidential race.

Also on board is Adam Parkhomenko, who worked for Clinton’s campaign committees from 2003 through the 2008 election. Bringman is a veteran of the 2008 Clinton campaign who has extensive campaign experience.
