Trump questions Obama on support of police: ‘There’s something going on’

Donald Trump early Monday questioned President Obama’s sincerity when he speaks in support of police officers.

“There’s something going on,” he said on Fox News’s “Fox & Friends.” “Sometimes the words are OK, but you look at the body language. There’s just a bad feeling about him.”

{mosads}Trump said he thinks officers in the U.S. are treated “so unfairly.” 

“If an incident happens, it gets blown up for weeks,” he said.

“They’re under attack and now they’re under attack in the true sense of the word,” Trump added, citing Sunday’s shooting in Baton Rouge, La. Three police officers were killed and three more were wounded when a gunman opened fire early Sunday in Baton Rouge. The gunman, Gavin Long, was shot and killed at the scene.

Trump in June cast doubt on Obama’s commitment to fighting radical Islamic terrorism, also saying “there’s something going on.”

“We’re led by a man that either is not tough, not smart, or he’s got something else in mind,” he said on “Fox and Friends.”

Trump on Monday also praised the performance of police in Cleveland ahead of this week’s Republican National Convention.

“They are so sensitive,” the presumptive GOP presidential nominee said. “They have been so professional, so nice, so calm.”
