Former KKK leader David Duke lauds ‘great Trump speech’

Former Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke says he approves of Donald Trump’s Republican National Convention speech, tweeting late Thursday that he “couldn’t have said it better!”

Trump spoke for 72 minutes Thursday night to formally accept the Republican presidential nomination.

{mosads}“Together, we will lead our party back to the White House, and we will lead our country back to safety, prosperity and peace,” he said in Cleveland.

“We will be a country of generosity and warmth,” Trump added. “But we will also be a country of law and order.

“I am your voice. So to every parent who dreams for their child, and every child who dreams for their future, I say these words to you tonight: I’m with you, I will fight for you, and I will win for you.”

Trump has faced repeated criticism after Duke began urging his listeners to support the billionaire in February.

Trump disavowed Duke after initially hesitating to do so.

Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign on Wednesday released a video portraying Trump as someone who courts hate groups, focusing on Duke’s support as well as a Trump tweet that used what some considered a Star of David over piles of money.
