Trump: Dem convention a ‘total mess’

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump is mocking the Democratic National Convention as a “total mess” amid controversy over leaked emails.

“Wow, the Republican Convention went so smoothly compared to the Dems total mess,” he tweeted Monday.

“But fear not, the dishonest media will find a good spinnnn!”

{mosads}Trump’s comments come as Democrats open their convention Monday in Philadelphia in turmoil after WikiLeaks unveiled a massive trove of emails last week that showed top Democratic National Committee (DNC) officials appearing to plot to undermine Bernie Sanders’s presidential campaign.

The email leak again inflamed tensions between Sanders’s supporters and DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, whom they have long accused of tipping the scales in favor of presumptive presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.

Wasserman Schultz announced Sunday that she would resign from her position at the end of the convention.

But she also tried to address Florida delegates in Philadelphia on Monday morning and was repeatedly interrupted and booed. The DNC chairwoman has said she still plans to open and close the convention.

Trump also tweeted Monday that Clinton knew exactly what was going on at the DNC.

“Crooked Hillary Clinton knew everything that her ‘servant’ was doing at the DNC – they just got caught, that’s all! They laughed at Bernie,” he tweeted.

“The state of Florida is so embarrassed by the antics of Crooked Hillary Clinton and Debbie Wasserman Schultz that they will vote for CHANGE!” he said in another tweet.
