Gore: I’m voting for Clinton
Former Vice President Al Gore announced he will vote for Hillary Clinton on Monday, the same day he also said he’d skip the Democratic National Convention.
“I am not able to attend this year’s Democratic convention, but I will be voting for Hillary Clinton,” he said in a series of tweets.

{mosads}”Given her qualifications and experience — and given the significant challenges facing our nation and the world, including, especially, the global climate crisis, I encourage everyone else to do the same,” he tweeted.
Gore had been the highest-ranking Democratic holdout for the Clinton campaign and refused to back the former secretary of State, even as it became clear she would be the Democratic Party’s presidential nominee. When asked in late May if he’d endorse Clinton, Gore said he would “back the Democratic nominee.”
The relationship between Gore and the Clintons has been strained since 2000, when Gore kept then-President Bill Clinton at a distance during his own presidential bid, despite the president’s high approval ratings.
Reports surfaced last year that Gore aides were buzzing about a potential presidential bid that never materialized.
