Reagan’s son: My dad would back McCain, Ryan
Ronald Reagan’s son says the former president would support Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) and Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) in their reelection bids.
Just to be clear my father would support Paul Ryan and John McCain for reelection @Reince @SpeakerRyan @MeghanMcCain @SenJohnMcCain

Michael Reagan added that those in today’s GOP have a different definition of a true Republican than in his father’s time in the Oval Office, saying many would consider his father a Republican in name only, or RINO.
Those who think I am a RINO would also consider my father to be a RINO https://t.co/EkgstFCqKo

{mosads}Donald Trump on Tuesday declined to endorse McCain, Ryan and Sen. Kelly Ayotte (R-N.H.) amid their primary challenges.
“I like Paul, but these are horrible times for the country,” he told The Washington Post. “We need very, very strong leadership. And I’m just not quite there yet. I’m not quite there yet.
“I haven’t endorsed John McCain,” the GOP’s presidential nominee added. “I’ve never been there with John McCain because I’ve always felt that he should have done a much better job for the vets.
“We don’t need weak people. We need fighters in this country. But Kelly Ayotte has given me zero support, and I’m doing great in New Hampshire.”
Trump’s reluctance to embrace the trio of key Republicans raises concerns he might not unify his party ahead of November’s general presidential election.
Ayotte, McCain and Ryan have all previously endorsed Trump, but each has separately criticized the billionaire’s actions and tone.
Ryan is facing Wisconsin businessman Paul Nehlen in a primary battle for his House district.
McCain, meanwhile, is hoping to fend off a primary challenge Arizona GOP state senator Kelli Ward.
Ayotte is in a tough reelection race against Gov. Maggie Hassan (D) for New Hampshire voters.
