Missouri poll: Trump up by just 2 over Clinton
Donald Trump holds a slim 2-point lead over Hillary Clinton in the red-leaning state of Missouri, according to a new poll released Tuesday.
{mosads}Trump, the Republican presidential nominee, has 44 percent support in the state, with Clinton at 42 percent, according to the Remington Research Group survey. Libertarian presidential nominee Gary Johnson got 5 percent, and Green Party nominee Jill Stein got 2 percent.
The tight battle in Missouri comes as Clinton, the Democratic presidential nominee, sees a bounce in recent polls both nationally and in swing states.
She currently leads Trump by more than 7 points nationally in the RealClearPolitics polling average.
Most surveys conducted in the Show Me State have Trump leading by a comfortable margin, but a poll from late July found the two nominees virtually tied.
Missouri has gone Republican in nine of the last 12 presidential elections, including the last four in a row.
The Remington Research Group poll was conducted Aug. 5–6 and surveyed 1,280 likely voters. The margin of error was 3 percentage points.
