Trump accuses Clinton of ‘race-baiting’

Donald Trump is accusing Hillary Clinton of “race-baiting,” after a speech in which she accused the GOP presidential nominee of stoking racial tensions.

“Hillary Clinton is using race-baiting to try to get African-American voters-but they know she is all talk and NO ACTION!” Trump tweeted Thursday after Clinton’s speech in Reno, Nev.

“Hillary Clinton’s short speech is pandering to the worst instincts in our society. She should be ashamed of herself! he added.

In her speech Thursday, Clinton accused the Trump campaign of pushing conspiracy theories and attracting the “alt-right,” a sect of hardline conservatives usually associated with white nationalism.

{mosads}The Democratic nominee specifically hammered the Trump campaign for hiring Breitbart News executive Steve Bannon.

“The de facto merger between Breitbart and the Trump Campaign represents a landmark achievement for the ‘alt-right.’ A fringe element has effectively taken over the Republican Party,” Clinton said.

“All of this adds up to something we’ve never seen before. Of course there’s always been a paranoid fringe in our politics, steeped in racial resentment. But it’s never had the nominee of a major party stoking it, encouraging it, and giving it a national megaphone. Until now.”
