Donors can get ‘inside look’ at Trump transition team for $5K: report

Donors who spend $5,000 can get a glimpse of Donald Trump’s White House transition team, Politico reported Tuesday.

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R), a close Trump adviser, will host the exclusive look at the Republican presidential nominee’s transition plans on Sept. 15 in New Jersey.

{mosads}“This will be an inside look on the work underway on planning for transition,” an invitation to the event reads.

All contributions benefit the transition effort and not the Trump campaign, with corporate donations also being permitted.

Donations are only disclosed “within thirty days after the inauguration of the president-elect as president,” Politico reported.

Reports emerged last week that Christie, the chairman of Trump’s transition team, is seeking donors for a $2.5 million transition fund on Trump’s behalf.

Christie, a former GOP presidential candidate, suspended his own run in February and has since become one of Trump’s top surrogates.

Lawmakers have already approved $13 million to help the next administration take office once President Obama leaves.

Another $9.5 million in federal funds is being sought for office space, computers and other infrastructure next year, The Wall Street Journal reported earlier this month.
