Dr. Oz: Trump’s ‘healthy enough to be president’

Television personality Mehmet Oz on Thursday said records show GOP nominee Donald Trump “without question” is healthy enough to be president.

{mosads}“If I as doctor had a patient like him, I would think he had good health for a man of his age and I’d send him on his way,” he said on NBC’s “Today” show.

Trump on Wednesday gave Oz the results of his most recent medical exam during a much-anticipated taping of “The Dr. Oz Show” that will air Thursday.

A detailed summary of records Trump gave Oz have not been released.

A release from “The Dr. Oz Show” Wednesday said Dr. Harold Bornstein, Trump’s longtime doctor, examined the real estate tycoon last week.

Oz on Thursday said Bornstein’s analysis seemed credible, noting however that Oz had not tested Trump.

“I think [Trump’s health] is, again, reflective of the fact that he’s had appropriate screening throughout the years. I did not do the tests myself, so I cannot confirm that the data was alright, but the summary was pretty clear.”

Bornstein released a short, oft-criticized letter last year proclaiming Trump would be healthiest person ever elected president.

Bornstein revealed last month he wrote the controversial summary in five minutes while a limo was waiting outside his office.

Trump has sought to frame the release of his medical history as evidence he is more transparent than Democratic rival Hillary Clinton.

Clinton has faced criticism for not disclosing her pneumonia diagnosis last week.

Clinton’s health became a public issue when the former secretary of State nearly collapsed while leaving a 9/11 memorial ceremony last Sunday.
