Clinton hits Trump over lack of disclosure in new ad
Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton slams her Republican rival for his lack of transparency in a new ad.
{mosads}”What is Donald hiding,” text says at the beginning of the video, titled “Disclosure.”
“Where shall we begin?”
The video calls out Trump for not releasing his tax returns, for his apparent ties to foreign nations and for hiding facts about his charity.
Clips at the beginning of the video emphasize the strong precedent set for presidential nominees to release their tax returns.
Trump has declined to release his documents because he says he is under audit by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) — but the IRS has said nothing prevents the real estate magnate from releasing his returns.
The video also criticizes Clinton’s Republican rival for not releasing more detailed medical records.
Clinton late Wednesday released information about her medical records that included her physician saying the former secretary of State is in “excellent mental condition” and fit to serve as president.
Trump on Wednesday gave Mehmet Oz the results of his most recent medical exam during a taping of “The Dr. Oz Show,” though a detailed summary of the records Trump provided has not yet been released. He previously released a short letter from his doctor, who claimed Trump would be the healthiest person ever elected to the White House.
At the end of the new Clinton video, Trump is attacked for “hiding his policies.”
“Clinton has enough policies to fill a book, while Trump has said little about how he’d govern,” text reads, citing a piece in the Los Angeles Times from earlier this week.
“What is Donald hiding,” the video asks again in text at the end. “Seems like everything.”
In the past, the Democratic nominee has also been criticized in the past for her apparent lack of transparency.
