Carson: Trump faces a debate ‘learning curve’

Ben Carson on Wednesday said he thinks Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump learned a lot from Monday night’s debate.

{mosads}”Remember, this is his first one-on-one debate, and I think there’s a learning curve for that,” Carson said Wednesday on CNN.

“I think you will probably see a bit different way of approaching it for the next debate.”

Carson, a strong Trump supporter and former GOP candidate, said the debate didn’t go “as well as it could have.” But he then went on to tout online polls that showed Trump emerged victorious from the debate.

“Remember, in 17 out of 21 polls, particularly the online polls, which tend to be people who are very engaged, he won,” Carson said.

“So I don’t know that you can necessarily pick the few where he lost and say that that represents what everybody thinks.”

Trump claimed all of the online polls, which are unscientific, showed that he bested Hillary Clinton in their first debate clash.

An NBC News/SurveyMonkey survey that came out Wednesday showed a majority of voters think Clinton beat Trump in their first presidential debate.

The poll showed that 52 percent said Clinton won the debate and only 21 percent said the same of Trump.
