Podesta suggests Trump camp knew about email hack
The chairman of Democrat Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign implied Tuesday that Donald Trump’s campaign may have had “advance warning” about the WikiLeaks hacks of his personal email.
{mosads}On the Clinton campaign airplane, John Podesta spoke to reporters for the first time since WikiLeaks began publishing thousands of his emails, implicating former Trump adviser Roger Stone, BuzzFeed reported.
“A couple of months ago, Roger Stone confirmed that he was in touch with Julian Assange,” Podesta said, mentioning the WikiLeaks founder and pointing reporters to a specific tweet.
“Around the same time, Stone pointed his finger at me,” Podesta added, according to BuzzFeed, “and said that I could expect some treatment that would expose me and ultimately sent out a tweet that said it would be my time in the barrel.
“So I think it’s a reasonable assumption to — or at least a reasonable conclusion — that Mr. Stone had advance warning and the Trump campaign had advance warning about what Assange was going to do.”

Podesta and other Clinton campaign officials have refused to authenticate the thousands of emails — many which are embarrassing for the Democratic nominee — that WikiLeaks has been releasing since last week.
The site released 1,000 new emails on Tuesday that it claims were taken from the account of Podesta, a longtime adviser to the Clinton family.
WikiLeaks published separate batches of 2,000 emails on Monday and Friday, leading to a series of embarrassing headlines that Clinton’s critics have been eager to promote.
Clinton’s campaign has claimed that the releases are part of an orchestrated effort from Russian hackers to undermine her presidential campaign and buoy Trump, the Republican nominee.
