Kasich to Republicans still supporting Trump: ‘Lead by example’

Ohio governor and former Republican candidate John Kasich is chastising Republicans who have not yet condemned the leaked comments by Donald Trump in which he described forcibly groping women.

“Lead by example,” Kasich urged in a new interview with Business Insider

{mosads}”I don’t have any more words,” he said. “I’ve tried to do the best I can to lead by my actions in an appropriate way without recrimination or anything like that, because I … I’m a very happy person. I don’t think I need to say any more than what I’ve demonstrated.”

Kasich said after the audio of Trump leaked on Friday that he wasn’t surprised by Trump’s obscene sexual comments.

“Nothing that has happened in the last 48 hours is surprising to me or many others,” Kasich said in a statement on Saturday. “Many people were angry and questioned why I would not endorse Donald Trump or attend the Republican convention.”

“The actions of the last day are disgusting, but that’s not why I reached this decision, it has been an accumulation of his words and actions that many have been warning about,” the Ohio governor said.

Kasich’s new comments also come amid mounting allegations that Trump kissed and groped women without their consent.
