Pelosi: Clinton ‘well-qualified’ for president

{mosads}“I make a habit of not endorsing people until they make a decision to run,” she said on NBC’s “Meet the Press.” “But I think there are many people who are waiting to see if Secretary Clinton runs.”

Pelosi said earlier this week in an interview with USA Today that she wants Clinton to run in 2016. On Sunday, she called Clinton “well-qualified.”

“I’m really excited about the prospect of a woman president of the United States,” Pelosi said, “especially a woman as well qualified as Hillary Clinton.”

She insisted though that her current focus is on taking back the House in 2014.

“Let me just say, I think it’s a little early to be talking about 2016. We have the election in 2014 which we fully intend to win,” she said.

Looking towards 2014, Pelosi said Democrats plan to run against the “obstructionism” of Republicans.
