Pallone launches first ad in New Jersey Senate race

{mosads}It features shots of Pallone campaigning in New Jersey, interspersed with clips of supporters touting Pallone’s work.

“The son of a cop, Frank Pallone knows working New Jersey,” a narrator says, adding that the “middle-class father of three…gets things done.”

The ad credits Pallone with steering the health care overhaul through Congress and preventing the Tea Party from dismantling Social Security.

“Frank Pallone: The Democrat,” the narrator closes.

Pallone is facing Rep. Rush Holt (D), state Assembly Speaker Sheila Oliver and Newark Mayor Cory Booker in the Democratic primary for deceased Sen. Frank Lautenberg’s (D) seat. Booker remains a heavy favorite to win in the Aug. 13 primary, with every poll of the race showing him holding a double-digit lead.

Booker, buoyed by $4.5 million in the bank at the close of the last reporting period, has already been airing ads for weeks.

Whomever wins the Democratic nomination is likely to go on and take the seat in the October general.
