Mass. GOP steps up Occupy attack on Warren
The video starts with Warren’s statements in support of the movement, and then shows a series of protesters denouncing capitalism.
“Capitalism is a pathology. It’s a cancer, it’s a sickness,” one protester says.
It then cuts between footage of activists being arrested and quotes where Warren uses fighting metaphors to describe her approach to political battles.
{mosads}”Elizabeth Warren. Too Divisive. Too Radical,” the narrator says at the close of the video, reviving the slogan the GOP has tried to wrap around Warren in the six weeks since she entered the Senate race to take on Sen. Scott Brown (R-Mass.).
While Democrats are eager to take advantage of the grassroots energy and opportunities to organize this engaged group of mostly liberal activists, they are also careful to steer clear of any of the falling shrapnel from the scattered reports of law-breaking at Occupy Wall Street protests.
“She understands why people are so angry and why they are taking their fight to the street. She has said repeatedly everyone has to abide by the law,” Warren spokesman Kyle Sullivan told The Hill on Wednesday. “Elizabeth is working for change a different way, to take this fight to the United States Senate.”
