New Hampshire Republican Senate candidate Scott Brown narrowly outraised Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-N.H.) during the third quarter, bringing in over $3.6 million to her more than $3.5 million.
{mosads}His campaign did not disclose its cash on hand figures, but Shaheen ended August with $3.5 million in the bank.
It’s money she’ll need as she gears up to fend off Brown’s challenge, which has proven to be the toughest reelection fight of her career. She’s also facing millions of dollars in attacks from outside GOP groups, including a $3 million investment next week from American Crossroads.
A Brown adviser told New Hampshire Journal, which first reported Brown’s fundraising figures, that the haul is “the latest indicator of Scott Brown’s growing momentum and the strength of Scott Brown’s campaign.”
Still, Shaheen has proven resilient and has led Brown by solid single-digit margins in most public polling of the race.
