NRSC fundraising on State of the Union address

{mosads}”Each time President Obama and his liberal friends in Congress double-down on their demands for higher taxes to finance even more out-of-control spending, Republicans are more likely to win 2014 Senate elections in states like Louisiana, North Carolina, West Virginia, South Dakota, Arkansas, Alaska, and many others,” NRSC Chairman Jerry Moran (R-Kans.) writes in an email to supporters, echoing a strategy memo sent out earlier by the committee.

The email asks for a donation of $25, $50 or $100 to the NRSC, promising that “your gift will help us recruit strong candidates for the 2014 elections.”

Moran goes on to offer his own version of what he believes Obama will say during his fourth State of the Union address:

“. . . he’ll start with ‘let me be clear,’ and then he’ll point fingers at Republicans for all his failures, while also claiming that the economy is moving in the right direction, and that things would be even better if we’d just let him spend (sorry, ‘invest’) more of our money and make more of our decisions. Yeah, spend even more of your money because Washington has such a great track record on spending, right?”

The email closes with a postscript that juxtaposes President Obama with Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), who will be giving the GOP rebuttal to the State of the Union. The high-profile position for the young Senator has stoked speculation over Rubio’s potential 2016 plans.

“Every dollar you contribute will help us expose President Obama’s empty talk, and help make Senator Rubio’s vision of limited government, free enterprise, and job creation a reality in America again,” Moran writes.
