Mark Warner will run for reelection
{mosads}Warner’s office told The Staunton News-Leader that he would definitely make the run. That decision has been expected since he ruled out a run for governor in November. He said in a statement at the time that his job was “here, in the Senate.”
His decision makes it highly unlikely Republicans will seriously contest the seat — he has the highest approval ratings of any politician in Virginia, polls show him in strong shape for reelection, and no one has stepped up to run against him at this point.
