NRSC to attack Senate Dems on ObamaCare delay

The NRSC plans to send out releases later this morning attacking Democratic Sens. Mark Begich (Alaska), Mark Pryor (Ark.),
Mary Landrieu (La.) and Kay Hagan (N.C.) as well as Reps. Bruce
Braley (D-Iowa) and Gary Peters (D-Mich.), both of whom are running for
Senate.

{mosads}”After four years of celebrating ObamaCare, Washington Democrats face a choice of two political evils ahead of the 2014 midterms: implement the train wreck or, delay it — and desperately try to protect weak Senate candidates from the political backlash over the taxes, fees, mandates and penalties scheduled to take effect the same year voters will head to the polls,” one version of the release reads. “In hopes of pulling a vulnerable Kay Hagan through a tough reelection, Washington Democrats have chosen the latter.”

Democrats, especially those in red states, have hoped to move on from talking about ObamaCare and focus on other issues — but the delay has put them in a tough spot by forcing it back into the news. Much of ObamaCare is set to be implemented this fall, shortly before the midterm elections.

“If Kay Hagan was true to her word, she’d be up-in-arms that ObamaCare, which she promised would help families and businesses, is being delayed,” said NRSC Press Secretary Brook Hougesen. “Instead, Hagan hedged and ignored experts and constituents who warned that ObamaCare would hurt the middle class by raising costs, not allow people to keep the care that they have if they like it, and be a bureaucratic nightmare that hurts small businesses. Now even Democrats are beginning to recognize the law is a train wreck. The fact is that the only way to dismantle ObamaCare is by electing a Republican majority — not Kay Hagan.”
