Biden: Presidential bid would ruin golf game
Vice President Biden joked Thursday evening that running for the big desk would ruin his golf game.
“If you want to keep your handicap in golf, don’t run for president. So I expect strokes,” said Biden. According to CNN, it was not clear whether Biden was joking.
{mosads}The quip was prompted by a comment from Irish Taoiseach [Prime Minister] Enda Kenny, who invited Biden to make a visit to Ireland, unload his “golf sticks” from Air Force Two and play a round.
The vice president has been publicly mulling a third attempt at the White House, after previous runs in 1988 and 2008, inviting political observers to seize on any stray comment that might indicate which way he is leaning.
Biden was appearing at the annual American Ireland Fund Gala, where he was awarded the group’s “Peace Award.” The American Ireland Fund is an organization that raises money for various charitable causes in Ireland. Biden has been honored by the group before, receiving its Distinguished Leadership Award in 2008.
