Boxer raising funds for Hillary super-PAC
Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) will headline a fundraiser next month for the super-PAC focused on helping Hillary Clinton win the White House in 2016, according to an invitation obtained by the Los Angeles Times.
The “Ready for Hillary” fundraiser on June 19 will take place at the Washington home of philanthropist Edie Frasier, and guests are asked to donate anywhere between $250 to $2,500.
{mosads}The fundraiser will come a little more than a week after Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) and Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel (D), President Obama’s former chief of staff, will be special guests at a fundraiser for the group in Chicago.
Boxer was reportedly behind a letter signed by every Democratic female member of the Senate last year urging Clinton to run. Boxer has publicly been an outspoken advocate for her candidacy.
According to a tally by The Hill earlier this year, 60 lawmakers have already come out publicly in support of her candidacy, including 19 senators.
Clinton, who will be promoting her new book Hard Choices next month, is seen in early polling as the likely choice for the Democratic nomination if she chooses to run.
She has said she will make a decision later this year.
