DHS chief: Reporter on terror list should ‘come and see me’
Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson said a U.S. journalist on the terror watch list should “come and see me.”
Stephen Hayes, a senior writer for The Weekly Standard and a Fox News contributor, caused something of a stir last month when he tweeted that he was on the terror watch list:
Just informed I’m on the @DHSgov terrorist watch list. Explains why I have been subject to extra screening each of my recent trips.

Hayes explained that the move was probably due to his travel itinerary:
I suspect I made the list b/c of concerns about #Syria. I took a one-way flight to Turkey in late July (return flight was Athens). @DHSgov

Johnson was asked about Hayes’s situation during an interview on Fox News Friday night.
“I don’t know his individual situation,” Johnson said. “I would suggest that Steve come and see me.”
