Family of Ebola patient moved from apartment

The four family members of the Ebola patient in Dallas were moved from the apartment where they had been quarantined, Dallas officials said in a press conference on Friday.

The family members were driven to a location that will remain undisclosed to avoid having the media camp outside, according to Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins.

{mosads}The family members are not showing symptoms of Ebola and therefore are not contagious. There had been pressure on officials for keeping the family quarantined in an apartment with sheets and other items that could have been contaminated by the Ebola patient.

Officals said those items were removed by a team wearing protective suits.

Dallas officials projected calm and tried to reassure the public. Jenkins stressed that he himself rode in the car with the family, emphasizing that they were not contagious.

The White House also sought to project that the situation was under control in a separate press conference Friday in Washington.

Officals there emphasized that the U.S. has much better infrastructure to prevent an outbreak than the affected areas in West Africa do.
