Jay Leno: Trump’s head is ‘up his ass’

Comedian Jay Leno is finding fresh material with Donald Trump, mocking the GOP front-runner’s feud with Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.).

“McCain was not a hero?” he asked during a Television Critics Association press tour in Los Angeles, according to Entertainment Weekly. “Without McCain the North would have lost the Civil War.

“And Trump had a medical deferment,” the comic continued about Trump’s lack of military experience.

{mosads}“He had an inter-rectal cranial inversion — his head was up his ass,” Leno quipped. “There are a lot of those.”

Leno also clowned former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush for trailing behind Trump in the race for the GOP’s 2016 presidential nomination.

“[Trump] and Bush are front-runners,” he said. “It’s interesting watching this whole thing unfold.”

“[It is] kind of like the race between the tortoise and the bad hair,” Leno joked.

He also predicted that fellow comedian Stephen Colbert would surprise viewers with his political leanings upon debuting as host of CBS’s “The Late Show” in September.

“I would like to see a bit more diversity,” Leno said about what Colbert could bring to the late night talk show scene.

“I think Colbert will be terrific — he’s smart,” the former “Tonight Show” host said. “People think he’s a raging liberal, [but] he teaches Sunday school.”

Leno’s routine comes at a time when Trump is the front-runner for the GOP nomination in multiple national polls.

Trump has had a war of words with McCain that shows no signs of letting up despite his rise in the polls.

After McCain said that Trump in July had “fired up the crazies” by holding a rally on immigration in Arizona, the billionaire hit back, criticizing his war record.

“He was a war hero because he was captured,” Trump said. “I like people who weren’t captured.”

Trump also has hit McCain on his record on helping veterans.

McCain rebuked the New York business mogul on Wednesday night, saying he had distorted his record.

“As Ronald Reagan used to say, ‘facts are stubborn things,’ and Senator McCain’s long history of working on behalf of his fellow veterans is clear,” McCain’s office said in statement touting his efforts on military benefits.
