O’Reilly: ‘Handcuff’ Trump to stop him from tweeting
Fox News anchor Bill O’Reilly says Donald Trump’s aides should keep him from tweeting.
O’Reilly said the GOP front-runner’s inability to let an insult go makes the social media platform “the worst thing that ever happened in Donald Trump’s life.”
“So now, you know, what should happen is the people who love and cherish Donald Trump should, after 9:00 at night, handcuff him so he can’t do that,” O’Reilly said on “Live with Kelly and Michael” on Thursday.
{mosads}The longtime host of “The O’Reilly Factor” said Trump’s penchant for lashing out at his critics on Twitter is unbecoming for a presidential contender.
“If Donald Trump wants to be president, all right, he has to now pivot and start to get serious,” O’Reilly said. “So if somebody says, ‘I don’t like your hair,’ he ignores that and says, ‘Here’s how I’m going to solve the economy, here’s how I’m going to solve foreign policy problems.’”
Trump resumed his feud with Fox News after he was bounced from O’Reilly’s show on Thursday, saying he would “boycott” the network.
The real-estate mogul has accused Fox of unfair treatment and attacked O’Reilly in a series of tweets on Monday for featuring “Trump haters” on his show.
O’Reilly also joked that “everyone will be deported” if Trump is elected president.
“I’m going back to Ireland myself, you know,” he said.
The presidential contender has made immigration reform a centerpiece of his campaign, vowing to deport illegal immigrants and build a wall on the Mexican border.
