Kerry, who is attending the General Assembly meeting as Obama’s top diplomat, held a meeting relating to the situation in Syria at a hotel in New York earlier in the morning at 7:30 a.m., according to his public schedule.
Obama said during his remarks that the U.S. was committed to working with any country, including Russia and Iran, to encourage peace in Syria after the civil war.
