Presidential candidates practice pardoning a Thanksgiving turkey

Turkey pardon, thanksgiving

Among the many duties of the president, the pardoning of a turkey on Thanksgiving stands out.

{mosads}It is for that reason that conservative online publication IJ.com invited a few Republican presidential candidates to practice their turkey-pardoning skills, thereby making the case to the American people that they are truly Oval Office material.

Retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio and businesswoman Carly Fiorina each try their hand at freeing a flightless bird from an untimely demise, bringing their unique set of skills to the fore for this most essential of statesmanly tasks.

And Carson even manages to inject a bit of politics into the fowl affair.

“Turkey would certainly fit for a lot of people who are in Washington now,” he says with a chuckle at the video’s conclusion.
