3 injured in elementary school shooting in SC
Three people were injured in a shooting at an elementary school in South Carolina on Wednesday.
{mosads}One shooting suspect, a teenager, was taken into custody after the shooting at Townville Elementary School, about 40 miles southwest of Greenville, S.C., Taylor Jones of the Anderson County sheriff’s office told reporters.
Among the three injured were two students airlifted to a nearby trauma center and one female teacher transported from the scene, the official said.
The sheriff’s office official said the extent of the injuries is unknown.
Authorities searched the school, including with a SWAT team, and “everything appears safe,” he said.
Students were transported to a church and the district put out an alert.
