Paul Ryan loves GIFs
House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) expressed his newfound love for GIFs on Wednesday, and said he even uses the images in text messages to fellow House members.
“These things are awesome!” Ryan told Axios’s Mike Allen at a News Shapers event.
“I learned about this thing three weeks ago, I didn’t know,” he said.
“Someone sent me one. I got one with Stifler here, doing ‘Yes!’ It’s an ‘Old School’ … He’s got a big mullet here.”
{mosads}Ryan told Allen the recipients of his GIFs are often surprised to receive the images in their texts messages from the speaker of the House.
“I send GIFs to people who really don’t expect it from me. I got one with Britney Spears doing this [a thumbs up], Captain Obvious,” he said.
The speaker of the House told Allen he enjoys the reactions he gets when using GIFs.
“These things are pretty damn funny, I think. I send this to people who really wouldn’t expect it from me, and it’s fun to watch their reactions.”
Ryan himself has been the subject of various GIFs on the internet, including one in which he “dabs.”
