Weather.com rips Trump exit from Paris climate deal
Weather.com is slamming President Trump for pulling out of the Paris climate deal.
The weather website revamped its front page Thursday to include a link to a livestream of Trump’s official announcement on the deal.
Below the livestream are seven posts featuring examples of how climate change is impacting the U.S. and world, and urging the public to care more about the issue.
{mosads}The first headline reads “Still Don’t Care? Proof You Should Care Now,” with a photo showing flooding. Other headlines titled “…and More Proof…” “…And Even More Proof…” accompany images of a collapsing ice shelf, forests growing in Antarctica, rising sea levels in California and glaciers melting in Glacier National Park.
Trump on Thursday announced that he is pulling the U.S. out of the Paris climate accord, which binds nearly 200 countries to take steps to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Environmental groups and Democrats lambasted the decision.
The Sierra Club mocked the decision on Twitter, tweeting: “Congratulations, President Bannon,” a reference to White House chief strategist Stephen Bannon, who reportedly encouraged Trump to withdraw from the deal.
