Dem lawmaker parodies Comey-Trump talks: ‘I hope you retweet this’

Rep. Ted Lieu (D-Calif.) on Thursday parodied President Trump’s alleged demand of loyalty from former FBI Director James Comey, comparing it to asking his chief of staff to retweet his posts.

“After watching Comey, I told staff to leave my office except for my [chief of staff]. I looked him in the eye & said I ‘hope’ you retweet this,” Lieu tweeted.

Earlier Thursday, Comey testified to the Senate Intelligence Committee that Trump told him he “hoped” the then-FBI director would give him loyalty.

{mosads}Lieu, an outspoken critic of Trump, tweeted out rebukes of the president throughout Comey’s testimony Thursday.
