Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) on Sunday expressed his support for the Resist March, a walk through Los Angeles being substituted for the annual pride march.
“At this year’s #Pride, we march for love – for love of country and the right to love whomever you love. This year, we resist,” Schiff wrote on Twitter.
{mosads}The Resist March in Los Angeles came amid pride marches around the country over the weekend.
“This was not the year for parades. This was the year to take to the streets and march,” a spokesman for the march’s planners told Reuters.
“The march is still about celebrating our community but its also about recognizing the climate we live in and the delicate balance around civil rights.”
Organizers of the Resist March — a protest against President Trump — told Reuters that the three-mile walk would culminate with a rally in West Hollywood featuring House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and groups supportive of LBGTQ rights.
