Boston Globe floats Obama as possible Harvard president

The Boston Globe is floating former President Obama as a potential president of Harvard University.

The Globe on Thursday published a short list of possible candidates to replace current Harvard president Drew Faust, who announced Wednesday that she would step down next years.

The paper noted Obama’s alumnus status and his time heading the Harvard Law Review, and that a critique of Obama being “too professorial … might be a plus at Harvard.”

“It’s not leader of the free world — but heading one of the world’s premier universities could hold lots of appeal,” the newspaper wrote. 

{mosads}Obama graduated from Harvard Law School in 1991 and was the first black editor of the school’s law review. He taught constitutional law at the University of Chicago Law School for 12 years.

The paper also listed Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen as a possible candidate.
