Pro-Trump group blasts ‘rigged’ Russia probe in ad starring Tomi Lahren
A new video ad starring prominent conservative Tomi Lahren blasts Justice Department special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian election interference as rigged.
The Great American Alliance, a pro-President Trump nonprofit, on Friday launched a new ad highlighting Mueller’s connections to fired FBI Director James Comey and tying lawyers working on the investigation to the Democratic Party.
The ad, titled “Witch Hunt,” features Lahren, who joined the group earlier this month. The title echoes Trump’s criticism of the investigation, which he has called a “witch hunt” on Twitter several times.
{mosads}“What does the Washington establishment’s independent investigation look like?” Lahren says to open the ad, calling Comey’s leaks to the media about his meetings with Trump a “ploy.”
Lahren then notes that Comey and Mueller used to work together before saying that four of the lawyers Mueller hired for the investigation donated to the Democratic Party, including to former President Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.
“One even worked as a lawyer for the Clinton Foundation,” she says.
Lahren calls Comey Mueller’s “star witness” while the phrase “leaker James Comey” is shown on the screen.
“Only in Washington could a rigged game like this be called independent,” she says to close out the ad.
The pro-Trump group has hit Comey in the past, calling him a “showboat” ahead of his testimony in front of the Senate Intelligence Committee earlier this month.
