Poll: Heller more likely to lose if he supports GOP healthcare bill

A new poll from a Democratic-friendly firm finds that Sen. Dean Heller (R-Nev.) is more likely to be defeated in the upcoming 2018 midterms if he votes for the Republican bill to repeal and replace ObamaCare.

Fifty percent of Nevada voters said they are less likely to vote for Heller if he backs the Senate GOP bill, according to a survey by Public Policy Polling. Forty-two percent of voters said they were more likely to vote for his opponent, Rep. Jacky Rosen (D-Nev.), because she voted against the House’s version of the bill last month.

{mosads}Rosen leads Heller by 1 point in a hypothetical 2018 Senate matchup, 42 percent to 41 percent, according to PPP.

The poll by the left-leaning firm had a 4-point margin of error and surveyed 648 Nevada voters from June 23 to 25.

Heller, who is considered to be the most vulnerable Republican senator in the upcoming 2018 midterm elections, has said he would not support the GOP’s ObamaCare repeal-and-replace plan in its current form.
