House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) in a Wednesday interview said “prayers are being answered” for the recovery of Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) following the lawmaker’s shooting earlier this month.
“Most of us have gone to see him or we’ve spoken with him and he’s making a very good recovery,” Ryan said in interview with “Fox & Friends” host Brian Kilmeade . “Our prayers are being answered.”
{mosads}Ryan also said leadership is keeping Scalise’s seat vacant until he return to the Capitol.
Scalise and four others were shot earlier this month when a gunman opened fire on the GOP team’s practice for the annual charity Congressional Baseball Game.
Scalise was released from the intensive care unit of the MedStar Washington Hospital last week.
