Minn. governor’s boat surrounded in walleye fishing protest
Protesters reportedly surrounded a boat belonging to Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton (D) on Saturday over a ban on walleye fishing.
According to FOX 9 Minneapolis, protesters in boats circled Dayton on Lake Mille Lacs to demonstrate against a three-week walleye fishing ban aimed at conserving the breed.
“We couldn’t catch a fish because we had these boats circling around us,” Dayton told the news outlet.
{mosads}“I’m here to emphasize the positive. I’m here to talk about the positive fishing in Mille Lacs.”
The news station reported that the temporary fishing ban has hurt the industry’s business.
