Conan casts faux Trump-Russia scandal movie with Muppets, Harry Potter characters

Late night talk show host Conan O’Brien on Friday shared his casting for a faux made-for-tv movie about the Trump administration and the ongoing investigation on Russian election interference.

O’Brien joked that Trump would be played by Prince Charles, showing a photo of the two leaders with their hair similarly tousled by the wind. First Lady Melania Trump would be played by a “bored house cat wearing jewelry.”

Donald Trump Jr., who is at the center of the latest part of the Russia scandal, would be played by “this punching dummy you see at any gym.”

For Trump’s children, O’Brien used characters from pop culture. Ivanka Trump got “Janice” from “The Muppets”, while Eric Trump got “Draco Malfoy” from the “Harry Potter” book series.

“You’ll get yours, Potter,” O’Brien joked.

Other figures at the center of the scandal weren’t spared. Kremlin-linked lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya would be played by actress Leah Remini, British music publicist Rob Goldstone was given the “Mucinex mucus monster.”

Vladimir Putin would be played by “Despicable Me”‘s Gru, Sarah Huckabee Sanders would be played by imprisoned “Dance Mom” Abby Lee Miller, and Kellyanne Conway would be played by “a plate of eggs and bacon.”

On Tuesday, Trump Jr. stunned many when he released a series of emails showing that he met with a Russian lawyer to obtain information that “would incriminate Hillary and her dealings with Russia and would be very useful to your father.”

President Trump defended his son through White House deputy press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders during an off-camera briefing with reporters.

“My son is a high-quality person and I applaud his transparency,” Trump said in a statement.
