Christie booed after catching foul ball at Mets game

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) was booed at a New York Mets game on Tuesday after he caught a foul ball.

Fans began to jeer the governor after they realized he had snagged the foul ball off St. Louis Cardinals player Paul DeJong at the top of the third inning.

“A souvenir for Chris Christie, are you kidding me?” one Fox Sports commentator said.

“Nice to see him get from the beach here to the ball park,” Fox Sports’ Dan McLaughlin said.

Christie faced massive backlash earlier this month after he was pictured with his family on a beach he had closed as part of a government shutdown. The photos quickly went viral.

Christie currently has a 15 percent approval rating in New Jersey.
