Report: FBI probes Utah cop who arrested nurse for refusing to draw blood
The FBI has opened a probe into the Utah police detective who was seen in a viral video arresting a nurse for refusing to provide a blood sample from an unconscious patient, Reuters reported on Friday.
The probe will examine whether Salt Lake City Police Detective Jeff Payne violated any federal laws in his arrest of nurse Alex Wubbels at the University of Utah Hospital.
An FBI spokesperson told Reuters that the bureau had begun a review of the incident. The Salt Lake City Police Department had already opened its own internal investigation.

Payne has also been fired from his part-time job as a paramedic after the video surfaced.
In it, Payne is seen forcefully grabbing Wubbels and putting her in handcuffs as she screams for help after she refused his request for a blood draw.
