Georgia lawmaker, wife injured in car crash
Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-Ga.) and his wife were injured in a car crash near Knoxville, Tenn., on Tuesday, according to a statement from the lawmaker’s office.
The two have since been treated and released from the hospital.
The accident took place while the couple were driving to Washington, D.C., from Georgia, where they aided in recovery efforts after Hurricane Irma.

They were driving on I-40 when their car was struck from behind by another vehicle, according to the statement. The collision pushed their vehicle off the highway, and their car flipped over.
The two were rushed to the hospital with “non-life threatening injuries” and treated and released. They will receive follow-up treatment in Georgia
Loudermilk was one of the Republican lawmakers at a congressional baseball game practice in June, where a gunman opened fire, wounding four including House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.).
