Hillary Clinton says she owns a pink protest hat

Hillary Clinton admits in a new interview to owning a pink “pussy hat” from the Women’s March on Washington earlier this year, which protested President Trump’s inauguration.

“I do!” Clinton told The New York Times when asked if she owned the headwear, according to a story published Saturday.

“I was given one that’s going into my archives,” the former Democratic presidential candidate added in an interview along with actress and activist America Ferrera.

The infamous hats were worn by marchers when thousands of demonstrators descended on Washington, D.C., on the day after Trump’s inauguration in late January to emphasize feminist causes, which protesters feared would be opposed by the Trump administration.

The Women’s March advocated for women’s equality, LGBT rights, abortion access and other issues. The march also featured several progressive speakers, including Ferrara who has advocated for Latino and immigrant issues.

Clinton has shown her support for the Women’s March on several occasions, thanking protesters for “marching for our values.”

In her 2016 election memoir “What Happened,” Clinton said that she stayed home to watch the march instead of participating.

“If I showed up, nasty politics would unavoidably follow” despite her being “upset and worried for the country,” she said.
