Protests turn violent in St. Louis
Protests in St. Louis, Mo., turned violent Saturday night as demonstrators again took to the streets following the acquittal of a white former police officer in a black motorist’s shooting death.
According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, demonstrators broke several businesses’ windows and hurled concrete pieces at police officers.
{mosads}It was the second night of violent protests after a judge reached a verdict in the murder case of Anthony Lamar Smith. Former St. Louis police officer Jason Stockley was acquitted of the charges.
The windows of St. Louis Mayor Lyda Krewson’s house were broken during Friday night’s protests, leading police to use tear gas to disperse demonstrators.
