Three staffers injured in accident involving Perdue motorcade
Two House staffers and one administration official were sent to the hospital near El Campo, Texas, after a major car wreck Thursday, the Texas Tribune reports.
Two staffers for House Agriculture Committee Chairman Michael Conaway (R-Texas) and one staffer for the Department of Agriculture were traveling through the Houston area to survey agricultural damage from Hurricane Irma when their SUV collided with a semi truck on the highway.
The semi truck crashed over the highway median with the SUV and stopped on the other side of the highway, according to a Tribune photographer who witnessed the accident.

Others in the caravan of vehicles included Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue and Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller (R), who were unhurt in the crash, according to the report.
Hurricane Harvey caused extensive flood damage to the Houston area after bringing record amounts of rainfall in late August.
