Michelle Obama criticizes lack of diversity in politics: one side is ‘all white, all men’
Michelle Obama criticized the lack of diversity in politics on Tuesday, saying it’s a reason that many people “don’t trust” lawmakers.
In a conversation with “Scandal” producer Shonda Rhimes at the Philadelphia Conference for Women, Obama spoke of her experience attending her husband’s State of the Union addresses, The Associated Press reported.
{mosads}Obama said that when looking at the room during the speech, one side of the aisle was “all white, all men,” and the other side had some women and people of color. Republicans and Democrats usually sit with their parties during the address.
Obama was surprised during the event with an anniversary tribute video from her husband.
