The University of Hawaii sent an email to students Monday with tips on how to prepare for a nuclear attack as tensions with North Korea remain high.
The email, with the subject line “In the event of a nuclear attack,” provided information about emergency sirens and sheltering in place, according to CBS-affiliate Hawaii News Now.
The email is one part of the state’s nuclear preparedness campaign, which it launched in July after North Korea successfully tested an intercontinental ballistic missile for the first time.
{mosads}”In light of concerns about North Korea missile tests, state and federal agencies are providing information about nuclear threats and what to do in the unlikely event of a nuclear attack and radiation emergency,” the email read.
Tensions with North Korea have continued to escalate, and President Trump has indicated that he may soon give up on diplomacy in dealing with the regime.
“Sorry, but only one thing will work,” the president tweeted on Saturday.
