NRA spokeswoman: Dems want to ban ‘every single part of a rifle’
Conservative pundit and National Rifle Association spokeswoman Dana Loesch warned that any new gun control measures in the wake of the Las Vegas mass shooting could lead to a total ban on guns.
“Dianne Feinstein is looking to make a Christmas tree out of the gun control bill,” Loesch said Friday in a speech to the Values Voter Summit, a Christian conservative conference hosted by the Family Research Council.

“If they get their way, it’s going to be like Johnny Cash’s “One Piece at a Time,” Loesch continued. “They are going to ban every single part of a rifle—period—your regular hunting rifle, until the whole thing is banned. It was made perfectly clear last week and it was made perfectly clear the week before that — no bans, no bills, period. None.”
Momentum has been building to restrict the sale and use of bump stocks since Las Vegas, the nation’s deadliest mass shooting in modern times. The devices were used by the shooter to increase the firing rate of semi-automatic rifles.
In the House, lawmakers unveiled a bipartisan bill to ban bump stocks, and Feinstein, a Democratic senator from California, has offered legislation in the upper chamber.
The NRA has said it opposes those bills, but previously opened the door to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives reviewing bump stocks and whether they should be subject to more regulation.
In her address, Loesch also hammered Hollywood over the avalanche of sexual harassment and assault allegations against movie mogul Harvey Weinstein. Weinstein, a prominent Democratic donor, has been a critic of the NRA.
“Does it shock you that a serial predator and a predator is against women owning guns?” Loesch asked.
Loesch questioned why others in Hollywood had not confronted Weinstein before over the harassment allegations.
“If there were a few more real men in Hollywood Harvey Weinstein would be walking around with a few black eyes,” Loesch said.
“Where were the real men in Hollywood? Where were the Ben Afflecks? Where were the George Clooneys?”
